Clan appalled as fire razes house, watershed furniture store

Owners of a landmark Tillsonburg furniture store are in shock afterwards fire razed the building, which housed their home and business sector, a household member says.

Emergency crews were named to a fire on Simcoe Street in the town of nearly 16,000 southeast of London at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oxford OPP said. Paramedics assessed one person at the scene; no unusual injuries were reported.

President Tyler Morrice, whose family owns the painting Morrice Article of furniture store, said the blaze destroyed the building, including the kin group's top-floor apartments.

"I'm just afraid," he said. "And today, we're kind of figuring impossible totally the things that you need on a day-to-day base, like clothes and towels and little things that you put on't think about."

Cause of the arouse, which closed Simcoe Street between Ball Street and Potters Road for hours Wednesday, is still under investigating, police same.

Officials have not provided a legal injury estimate, but Morrice says unimportant remains of the building.

"It's all bygone," he said. "IT's completely burned up. . . . Each the piece of furniture that was in there is credibly all toast, and all of our belongings, they'ray all gone."
